Video games also have a positive impact on children

Many parents worry when their children addicted to video games. When children with videogame fun adventure role playing game, parents tend to think of children only a waste of time. When children play any fighting game, the parents think videogames are a bad influence to children.

But videogames are not always a negative impact on children. Studies by the University of Michigan shows, videogames can help children to develop imagination.

As quoted from the pages of the Daily Mail, this study does not specialize in this study the effect of violence on children due to videogames.

However, this study sought to identify the development of creativity in the development of children, who learned from videogames. By examining 500 children aged 12 years, this study shows, the longer children play videogames, then the child will be more proficient in working on several tasks, like drawing and writing stories.

In this survey, students were asked how often they play videogames. After that, students will test the skills tested by using Torrance Test of Creatvity.

In tests of creativity assessment standards developed by American psychologist Ellis Paul Torrance, the children were asked to draw about what makes them interesting and enthusiastic, from the shape of the curve. After that, children were asked to give a title and write a story.

In this study as well known, boys more often play video games that are violent and sports. While the girls, they prefer games that are interactions, such as games role playing game.

But, children's creativity is not associated with existing technology. According to Linda Jackson, a psychologist who also led the study, creativity is associated with the use of technology. Therefore, this study also suggested that the game designers create games that stimulate children's creativity aspect.

"If they (the designers video games) to do it, video games can be designed to optimize the development of children's creativity by not reducing its entertainment value. Perhaps, a new generation of video games could eliminate the difference between education and entertainment," said Linda Jackson.
